Hello,
We are applying for a PIO card for my son who is 18 months old. We are both indian passport holders and have a green card here. My son was born here, so he is a US citizen.
In the PIO form:
Question 14 (a) Permanent Address in India (verifiable):
Answer:
Should it be Not applicable? Or, should we give a Indian address? My husband's passport has an indian address where his mom lives now. But if the question was for my son, he doesn't have a permanent address in India, right?
Question 24(a) Whether the applicant or his/her parents or grandparents or great grandparents was born and was permanently resident in India as defined in the Government of India Act, 1935 * at any time {please see instruction (1) }.
Answer:
Should this be N/A? Of course, my husband and I were permanent residents earlier on in our lives but not any more. Should we say Yes for this? Are our passports sufficient as a proof?
Thanks much for your help!
