Alimony case from US husband

My relative is in India and her husband is in USA, married for 20 years. He is still illegal in US. Now in March 2019, he divorced her by filing a onesided divorce case in US which she could not represent. Obviously court did not award any alimony to her. He has his parental assets in India. Also she is still living at his parents house. Please advise how she can proceed further to get her right of alimony. How to get free legal assistance in Connecticut. Can she file a case in US by being in India.
