Both my wife and I are preparing to immigrate on the basis of Family Green Card and we are waiting for the visa interviews. My wife is going to be 65 in a few months time. I wonder if there is any particular advantage if she travels to the US immediately after getting the visa and before she turns 65. Does it make a difference in terms of the premium to be paid, the health coverage one gets and the health policy one is eligible to apply for? Would welcome a response.

It does not really matter. Either way, domestic health insurance availability is unlikely and she won't be eligible for Medicare enrollment.
Therefore, she can purchase any of the new immigrants health insurance plans, available at https://www.insubuy.com/new-immigrant-insurance/Thanks & Regards
