    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs.

As a J visa holder you are not eligible to purchase visitors insurance plans. There are certain insurance requirements that a J visa holder has to meet and these are often set by your sponsoring organization.

Please contact your sponsoring organization to determine what insurance requirements you have to meet. Upon receiving this information we can properly recommend a plan for coverage that is designed for J visa holders.

Meanwhile, you can take a look at the plans that are designed for J visa holder on our website.

      Hi,
      Thank you for the mail.
Does that mean we need to enter visa details when buying insurance or you do not pass claims if one has visitors isnurance and is on J1 visa.
I need to know it as some of my friends have bought visitors isnurance.
      Thanks.

        Hello,

The only way we can tell if an individual is eligible for the insurance that they have purchased is to know what the insurance requirements that they sponsoring organization has, as well as the name and certificate number for the insurance.

If your friend has purchased from us they can submit their details we can confirm it for them.
        Thanks & Regards

          Hi,

If I buy online a policy for J1, would it become effective immediately or it will take some days to get activated.

          Thanks.

            Hello,

The policy would be effective from the date selected on the application.

The earliest a plan can start is the following day. There is no plan that can start the same day. The plans will cover the new accident and new illness that happen after the effective date of the policy. The plans do not cover pre-existing condition, preventative care or medication related to pre-existing conditions.

So if anything is currently going on it will not be covered under the plan.
            Thanks & Regards

              Hi,

I understand pre-existing condition policy, but flu etc. are not pre-existing I believe.

Please let me know if a parent buys policy, is a child insured for free?

                Hello,

Anything that happens before the plan starts is pre-existing be it a cold, flu or something like cancer. If symptoms were there before you purchased the plan it would not be covered.

So if someone is currently sick or has the flu as you have stated it will not be covered under the new plan being purchased. In order for us to assist you will selecting a plan as previously stated we would need your sponsoring organizations list of requirement s to determine your eligibility for the plans.

Please review the following link to a pre-existing condition FAQ for more information on pre-existing conditions.

                Pre-Existing Condition FAQ: https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-medi...ng-conditions/

You can submit the previously requested information as we can assist.

Some plans do include coverage for children under 9 for no charge but not all.
