First time visit to USA in a 10 year Multiple Visa

Hi,
One of my friend got 10 year multiple visa to go to USA.Though initially he planned to go to USA during Nov.05 but due to some family circumstances he could not move out of his place till May06.Please let me know whether he can undertake first visit to USA after eight months from the date of issuance of Visa. Some people say that he has to undertake first visit within six months from the date of issue of 10 year Multiple visa, otherwise the visa will be cancelled and he has to seek visa again for visiting USA. Please anybody could give me the correct answer to advise my friend.undefined undefinedundefined

There is no such rule. You can visit any time within next 10 years.
