green card dv lottery

Hello I won a green card trough the dv lottery. I've been notified that my visa has a expiration date which means I have to leave my country next month. The problem is that I have two tests one in September and one in December and I have to attend classes. I can only stay in the us one week because of that, my question is how long do I need to stay in the us when I first come in,is one week enough?

You can walk through the entry gate, pay the user fee and get your passport stamped, then walk right out the exit gate if you want.

The critical question is how long will you be gone before you return to the United States? Permanent residence does not work like a supervisa for occasional visits.

I will be gone for about 7 months I think . Can you tell me how it works in my case?What's the fee? How much is it? I read some where that it takes about a month until I get the social security and the plastic green card something like that .if I apply to recieve it ,aren't I'm supposed to be in the states during that time ? I also read that I'm supposed to get an appoitment at the uscis office..not sure for what !
