Need to change my surname in passport with valid Visas

Hi,

My maiden name is Nupur Dixit and I want to change my surname to my husband's surname Jain. I have valid H1B visa with the name Nupur Dixit on the passport.
If I apply for the surname change will the name in my visa also need to change?
Will I be issued a new passport with the new name and the visa will stay in the old passport or will it be rectified in same passport?
How much time does it usually take to get the surname changed?

In the best interest of keeping things simple, you better wait through till you get a USC to do it.

Anytime you do it after the first visa is done, it just complicates things exponentially.
