  • Is Evodek Composite Decking Material A Good Option For Decks?

I am currently planning a backyard renovation and the biggest part of the project will be building a new deck. After reading about maintenance problems with traditional wood, I started researching composite decking material as a more practical option.

From what I understand, composite decking material is supposed to resist moisture, fading, and insect damage much better than regular wood boards. That sounds ideal for an outdoor space that will be exposed to sun and rain most of the year.

While browsing different brands I noticed Evodek mentioned in a few places. The Evodek boards look interesting and the product descriptions claim the composite decking material is designed for long term durability with minimal maintenance. That is exactly the kind of composite decking material I am hoping to find.

The problem I am facing now is figuring out where to actually buy good composite decking material. Some people recommend local lumber yards because they carry higher quality materials compared to big box stores. Others say ordering directly from suppliers that stock Evodek composite decking material can sometimes be cheaper.

I would really like to know what others here have done when purchasing composite decking material. Did you compare brands first or did you simply choose what was available locally?

Also if anyone here installed Evodek composite decking material on their deck, how does it look after a few years of use and weather exposure?
