Hello All,
I hold a Pakistani Passport with green card. I am going to be traveling to Dubai via Paris (18 long hours of stop over) and was wondering if I need a transit visa? Well, I know that I do not need the Airport transit visa as I have a valid greencard but this doesn't allow me to get out of the airport right? Since I have an 18 hours of stop over, I think it would make sense for me to go out in town or even just to rent a hotel room for 14 hours or so. In this case, could I just get the transit visa from Paris itself? If I need to apply for transit visa in person in U.S. (in my case Atlanta district), how long would the whole process of receiving the transit visa take (from the date I submit my passport)?
