Dear Sir/Madam,
Im an Indian National(indian passport) living in Dublin,Ireland.I hold a valid working visa which expires in oct 2008.Im flying to India for vacation.I have booked my flight to Chennai(Madras) with Airfrance.The Flight details are as follows:
27 June,2008-departure from Dublin 1935 hrs and reaching Paris 2230 hrs
28 June,2008-departure from Paris 1030 hrs and reaching Chennai 2359 hrs.
I have a transit in Paris,CDG for almost 12 hrs.I understand that I need a visa if I have to leave the airport if I book a hotel outside.My query is,Do i need a transit visa to be inside the airport for those 12 hrs(2230 hrs on 27.06.08 to 1030 hrs on 28.06.08). I have travelled with Airfrance previously which transitted via Paris,but the transit time was for only an hour.But this time its for 12 hrs.I called the Airfrance office and they are not able to give me satisfying information.I was asked to contact the French Consulate regarding this issue.
As it already friday,im left with less than a week even if i have to apply for a transit visa.I can call the French consulate in Ireland only on Monday which is too late.Please advice me and anticipating your favourable reply at the earliest.
