"First country to enter" restriction

Hi there, as you know, for Schengen they have a restriction on the country that we enter ( or mainly stay ). If I get a multiple entry Schengen visa, for example: from Germany embassy. My first flight must be going to Germany. If I return to UK from Germany and then start another trip in a month after that. Should this trip be via Germany (entering Germany first), or I can go to anywhere within Schengen ?

I am not sure that is true. You must apply at a consulate of the country you will be primarily visiting, but that does not mean you have fly into that country first. I have had Schengen from germany, but always entered Netherlands first before flying to Germany.

Please clarify...

I am planning to apply for a Schengen visa shortly, for the first time. I am getting two views on the embassy I should get the visa from. My specific questions are as follows :

Q1. Say, I enter from Germany but stay longest in France. I must get my visa from German consulate or the French consulate ?

Q2. Say, my longest stay is in France. Can I get a visa from Italian or German consulate or it HAS to be from the French consulate ?

Above questions are similar, just that in Q1 my air-travel plan is fixed, but in Q2 my stay plan is fixed.
