A friend of mine will be travelling from Johannesburg to Chicago to complete her degree there before returning to South Africa at the end of next year. She will be travelling with Virgin Atlantic, and therefore stopping over in Heathrow for a few hours before getting her connecting flight.
I did not notice South Africa on the list of countries requiring transit visas, but am sure with the new legislation that this is required.
Could you let me know if she needs one, where to apply for one, and how much it costs, please? She needs to be in Chicago by 04 December so time is of the essence in arranging her flight etc.
