Schengen visa Application Assistance

Hi there

I am a South African citizen, and I am living and working in the Cayman Islands until June 2010. I was planning on travelling through Europe on holiday from late July to late August 2010. My main country that I would be staying in is Spain.

Is there any way that I could apply for a Schengen visa without having to travel back to South Africa?
I will be in USA before my planned trip to Europe for a period of around 2 weeks. Do you recommend using that time period to apply for the visa then?

If there is a Spanish embassy in Cayman Islands, you can apply there.

Else, you will have to apply in South Africa.

You can't apply in the US as you don't live here.
