Transit Visa

I am a Citizen of Nigeria, I have multiple visa (B2) that will be valid till June 2011. I am in USA, I would be traveling from Chicago to Nigeria through Rome Fiumicino - Italy with Alitalia Airline or Frankfurt Germany and to return with the same rout (Round trip ticket). I will stay in the airport within 4-6 hours and I will not be going out from the airport. Do I
need a trasit visa?
