  • Transit Visa - Frankfurt

    Hello,

I booked my flight thru Frankfurt by reading this forum and 'plain English' on German consulate website but after inquiring more I found that I need to apply for Transit Visa.

Please read this thread to avoid the mistake which I made

Post April 2010 you will need transit visa at Frankfurt airport if your stamped visa in passport has expired, they wont consider new I-797 approval doc as a valid proof and you will have to apply for Transit visa at german consulate.

Please read this email chain for more info __________________>>

    Dear Sir,
the visa process may take between 3 -10 days per mail. The fastest way to secure your visa is your personal visit , but there is an exception for Airport transit visas, you can mail . Please read our webside and follow the steps for an Airport transit visa on our webside and use the application form as well in the attachment.

    Sincerely

    Dear Sir,
I know I made a mistake, should have checked these visa requirements before booking my flight.

    1) Now do I have to personally appear for this Airport Transit visa or can I just send filled Application form along with required documents and passport through Fedex, if yes then to what Address ?

    2) Do I need to send separate money orders for visa application fee(92$) and passport mailing back fee(19$) or just one money order of the sum will do ?
Can I simply send cash in the application envelope ?

3)Would you be able to provide me tracking number for returning mail(passport) ?

    4) Approximately how many days it would take to get my passport back, e.g. if I you receive my transit visa application tomorrow then how many days you need to stamp visa?

    Thanks for assistance.

    Dear Mr Applicant,
please refer to our webside at www.miami.diplo.de
<http://www.miami.diplo.de> and check the exceptions for Indien

citizens. Unfortunately none apply for your case.
If you have an expired H1B visa and a I 797 approval notice you
need to apply for an Airport transit visa.
