Query on European transit visa

Dear Sirs,

I am a citizen of India. I intend visiting Peru and El Salvador in South America on business and will obtain the required visas from those countries.With available flights from India to these destinations, i will have to transit thru one of the airports in Europe i.e Netherlands or France or Germany or Spain. Should I obtain a transit visa for this purpose?? Will it be a transit visa valid for all Schengen airports or i have to obtain it from the embassy of the particular European country where I will transit.
