Applying for schengen visa from USA

Hello Madam/Sir,


I'm a turkish citizen. This summer, i will go to Virginia Beach for Work&Travel.

But i quallified for Eramus program (Budapest University - Hungary). As i know, Hungary wants schengen visa.Is it possible to apply for schengen visa from USA? I'll come back to my country (Turkey) at the end of the Work&Travel program, but i am going to be able to stay in Turkey only 2 or 3 days so it's not enough to apply for schengen visa from Turkey. If i can apply schengen visa from USA , is that visa valid to go Hungary from Turkey ?
