We are sailing our Sailboat from the US to the Med in June 2012 and would like to spend more than one short season there and we are trying to figure the logistics of doing that within the constraints of the Schengen Agreement.
We will arrive around mid June and would like to work our way East. Since Schengen limits are 90 days in a 180 day period, how can we stay for the winter? Would we need to go to a non-Schengen country after 90 days and if we did, wouldn't our time there exceed limits over the winter season?
I am sure this done all the time and that we can figure it out when we arrive, but any practical suggestions/itineraries from you veterans would be appreciated.
