  • INS Form To Stop Deportation.....Please Help

Hello everyone......I have a family friend who has spent the last 8 years in federal prison for serious drug charges. He is almost getting out and he is almost certain deportation proceeding will begin soon. I've inform family member to contact an immigration lawyer ASAP. However, what are some of the forms he could start using from INS in order to stop deportation. I've looked at form I-212 (Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the United States After Deportation or Removal) Is this the correct form? This seems like is a form to use after someone is out of the US. Are there any other forms or procedures anyone can suggest. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Only an attorney ...

... can really help you speed up any processing at the moment.

The matter's far too serious for you to fill up a bunch of forms to try and create hurdles in the deportation process.

    Good luck.

Nothing can stop deportation for drug offense and conviction AFAIK.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
