OPT extension

Hi Guys,

I have one serious question

I am on OPT right now and my opt will expire on 31st December. I have already apply for my opt extension for 3rd october but didn't receive yet. I need to go to india for my wedding at 19th November and will return back at 23 december. I will have still few days of OPT time once I will come back.

Is that critical situation. I am not sure my opt extension will be approved before I will come back or not. Please advise me..I am really worrying about my this situation.

I have all valid passport, Visa, I20. Even I am working with my core field company as a full time and which is also one of the fortune 500 company

I think you should be fine. Carry the extension application receipt notice with you. You should have it by Nov 19, if not have someone check your mail and send you the receipt to your home country when it arrives, so that you will have it before you return. Also, carry a current employment letter from your company and make sure the travel signature on your I-20 is not older than 1 year.

Yeah Thanks. I have that I765 application received notice with me right now. But I am waiting for Application Approved notice. How long it will take OPT Extention to be approved.

I had successfully entered in to USA. Dint get any question in port of authority. You can easily travel during OPT or OPT Extension .
