OPT STEM Extension Application Taking a Long Time

I applied for my OPT STEM extension on September 17th (received by USCIS) but the status page on their website still says "Initial Review". I got the notice of action soon after the application was received. It has been over 80 days since they received my application but I have not heard back apart from the notice of action. Does anyone know if this is normal? I thought the STEM extension would take less time than my previous OPT request which hardly too 2 months. My 12-month OPT expired at the end of November but I believe I do have the 180-day period of work authorization while my application is still pending.

I believe I do meet all the eligible requirements for the STEM OPT extension.

Tell me if you or people you know have experienced similar delays for STEM extensions. Thanks
