  • Time required for pre completion OPT cancellation

    Hi,

I applied for pre-completion OPT from June - December 2015 in March and it is still pending. However, I am thinking of graduating in August, after which I cannot continue my pre-completion OPT.

I wanted to know how many days it takes to cancel the pre-completion OPT application altogether.

I want to apply for my post-completion OPT in start of May, so I wanted to know if it would be possible to cancel my already pending application in half a month to avoid cumulative delays. Has anybody gone through this?
Any help would be really appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    vegeta1in

    Hi-

It will be pretty hard to cancel an OPT cancellation that's already in process. But your International Student Services office should be able to help. Go visit them and let them know about your situation and they should be able to contact USCIS quicker than you.

For more info, check out: www.waytoh1b.com

    Thanks,
    Gunhee
