Hi, I recently graduated a week ago and have received a paid contract position offer that provides 10–15 hours of work per week. Since I'm currently on OPT, I understand that I'm required to work at least 40 hours per week in a role related to my field of study.
To meet this requirement I wanted to ask, is it acceptable for me to work for two employers. One being the 15-hour contract position, and the other as a volunteer or unpaid intern for an additional 25 hours with a company in my field? Would this combination satisfy the 40-hour OPT requirement?
I would appreciate your guidance on how best to proceed with accepting the contract role while staying compliant with OPT regulations.
