  • I-751. Travel to Russia

I'm currently in the process of removing a conditional status on my green card. My 2-year green card expired on 11.3.2011. I do have a letter stating that my status have been extended for another year so i can work and travel.
I'm planning to travel to Russia in a month to visit my family. I did go the immigration office to get my passport stamped but i was told i don't need that.
I'm pretty sure I won't have problems entering US back having the expired green card and the extension letter with me. But what about leaving Russia? Will they let me out with only those 2 documents?

    Thanks

If you are travelling to russia and will be back to US within 6months,just carry your passport of country of citizenship, your expired greencard and other related documents with you, there wont be any problems in leaving Russia.

Just be sure to keep the letter with you and get photocopies of all the documents aswell. You are legally permitted to travel in and out of US nevertheless
