!Urgent Help! Adoption
Alright so i need some help clarifying some things.
Well,Im a single father who lives with his 15 year old son who will be 16 feb/2/ we live in the dominican republic. My ex wife (Not his mother his ex step mother) a u.s.a citizen would like to adopt him to take him to u.s.a. My son used to live with her if it helps at all . I am divorced from his mother and she has agreed to this .
My questions are:
1.What is the name of this process?
2.How long would this process take?
3.What do i need to do?
4.What does she need to do? (She = Ex-Wife)
5.What documents are needed?
6.Where should the adoption and visa request be made (U.S.A or Dominican Republic)
If you think there is any other important things i have forgotten to ask please tell me.
I was reading a bit on the USCIS page and it says that adoption and the visa request should be placed before the age of 16 this is why im in a rush.
