    Hi,

I received political asylum in the US on ground of being gay in Singapore, and my family has abused me because of that. I got my green card 5 years ago, and went to college and have been working for about 4 years now.

I never had any plans to go back to Singapore, but my mother just lost her house, and the only way out is for me to take over the house and let them live there. Can I go back to Singapore? What do I risk by going back to Singapore? Is there a process that can help me go back home for a while?

I believe in the US if you are approved for asylum you cannot go back to your country of origin unless until you are a citizen. I would strongly reconsider going back since your family abused you in the first place and are now asking for your help! you may risk all that you have built for yourself. perhaps if they need help you can find some other way to help but I would not travel back there at all since you are only a PR.
