Applying for Diversity Lottery while on Student Visa

Hi,

I go to college in TX. And I have couple more years to finish. I want to apply for diversity green card lottery and I'm afraid if I don't get selected I might be disqualified to apply for my visa for the next year of college. USA embassy only gives me a 1 year visa each year so I have to renew it each year and I'm afraid If I enter the lottery they might not give me a visa anymore. Please email me concerning this question

Both are independent matters and one would not affect the other.

You wouldn't have any problem getting student visa. I took part in lotto twice and also got visitors visa. I also had co workers who took part as well and still got the visitors visa. They are independent of each other. Showing that you have funds to pay for university and to maintain yourself during the period of studying is of paramount importance.
