My employer is processing B1..What will happen to my H4 visa??

My wife currently resides in US and i recently got my H4 visa stamped. I did not accompany my wife to US ..
Now my employer wants to process B1 visa. If i go for B1 stamping , what will happen to my H4??..Will it be cancelled??
I require your advice on this because i have plans of joining my wife with H4 on a later stage?? ..Please help me with your answer..!!!!!

generally they dont cancel existing H4 while issuing you a B1. One can hold both valid H4 and B1 in passport, but at a given time one can only be on H4 OR B1 while in US.
