B1 Visa Cancellation

Hi,

I have applied for my B1 Visa and I have submitted DS160 and made the payment.

Is it OK if I cancel my B1 Visa stamping now? Will this create any issue later.

My employer is applying for my H1 this year.

In my opinion you should go for the interview.
The reason is;
if your B1/B2 visa is granted , it is mostly valid for 10 years.
Even if you apply for an H-1 a few months from now, your B1/B2 will stay in your passport.
You can use it for next 10 years for business or even pleasure in case you return after working on your H-1.

My Employer has initiated my H1. As per my Employer, I may get RFP on H1 if I travel to USA on B1.

Hence Employer is telling me to cancel the visa stamping. But I would like to know whether cancelling B1 visa stamping will create any problem at later point (will I get any question from consultate why did I cancel my B1?).

No problems.
You can cancel it.
it will not have any consequences.
because you would not have appeared for the interview.
One can cancel for many number of reasons including personal emergencies.
So it is not worrisome.

Hi,

I cancelled my B1 Visa appointment. But I still have access to take another appointment.

Is it poosible to completely cancel my B1 Visa appointment. Basically, I don't want this B1 option be available when my employer initiate my H1.
