Hello
So June I would be scheduling an appointment for B1/B2. As I have this conference coming up in August 11-13th. Now most importantly I am waiting for an invitation letter. I have e-mail communications with the program Coordinator as well as the Program Chair, regarding the positive reply to issue me the invite-letter. Now the thing is I would wait until May mid week to see if the letter turns in. If not I will start the DS 160 form. In that my purpose is to attend the conference and just visit mentor and friends from the last Grad school I attended. Now please tell me, if going for an interview without the invitation letter is considered fault! I can only take with my the proof of email communication.
Secondly that visit part, should I be so clear about it or just mention tourism? I really need some advice to figure out!
The third most important thing is my ties to home country
I worked as a Researcher previously and completed my term to prepare and write GRE, after which I actually got busy with a big wedding of my own sister. Right now I have started job as a special tutor at the a local high school and give classes for the aspiring 12th grade medical school students. Now July 15th is the summer vacation and this conference time fits in well. So I want to make it to U.S during this break. Also that I have my entire family here and no immediate and distant relatives in the U.S. The trip will be sponsored by my parents (both professors). My near future plans which I am currently working on is do my doctoral studies from the Europe! So its a must return for me!
And earlier stay in U.S as an exchange student is a clean record and with no overstay( infact stayed less than stated).
Thanks!
