  • B1 b2 visa

    I have applied for a B1/B2 Visa and the interview is scheduled next week.

    At the time of Interview, Can I tell the VO that I am going for leisure as well as Business purpose? Will it affect my case or I have to specifically point out either Leisure or Business?

    In fact I am going to appoint Promoters / Distributors for my Business of DVD Productions and also combining Vacation for 3 weeks. Earlier I had been to UAE and Argentina both for 3 weeks on vacation. Will it be sufficient enough to prove my case? I have strong ties with India being a professional Musician and also having a well established Event Management Company here in India and also constructing my own house now and own a Premium Car. The negative is I am still a single at the age of 41.

    B1 - Business Visa

    @ Admin - Please answer my query. Is it possible to combine leisure trip with some Business meetings? Or I should say only Business trip at the time of Interview.

      Oh yes, you can do that . But strategically, it may be wise to just focus on your business purpose.
      Because pleasure is allowed on Business visits by default.

      But again, For B1 business purpose, officers are very sensitive to your stated duration of visit.
      So if you say 3 weeks, they will want to know why you need 3 weeks , what exactly you will be doing etc.

      Also noteworthy;
      *Visas are issued as combined B1/B2 meaning they can be used for either B1 Business or B2 pleasure or both.
      *Stay is not determined by visa duration. Meaning if you get a 3 month visa it does not mean you can only stay 3 months.
      Stay is determined at US airport.
      *At US airport they will give you a B1 Business or a B2 pleasure status depending on what you say as your purpose.
      you will say business so you will get B1. By default B1 status is allowed to go for pleasure as well as business.
      But if you say your purpose is purely pleasure they will give you B2 which does not allow business B1 activity.
      SO, YOU CHOOSE BUSINESS.

        In this case what we should quote the purpose of visit to security officer at immigration point. Should that be business pleasure or both

        [QUOTE=rockker;302000]Business travelers may enter the United States using a B1, or 'Visitor for Business' Visa. In practice these visas are invariably issued as jointly with B2, or 'Visitor for Pleasure' (i.e. Tourist) visa. This practice means that, if a candidate has an old tourist visa, it may be valid for a planned business trip. For those who come under the visa-waiver scheme, details of which are provided below, there is usually no need to apply for a visit visa at all if the candidate wishes to visit the US for three months or less.
