  • "b1 in lieu of h1b" and change of employer

I was issued "b1 in lieu of h1b" in UK and I am about to change employer.
I am planning to travel to USA for the same project, but represent a different UK company.
I did not travel under newly issued visa yet.

Do I need to change visa with new employer? I.e. is visa attached to employer? Or it is ok to travel under current visa.

The purpose of travel and the project are the same. The only difference is the UK company I am employed by.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

I feel your B1 is not really tied to any particular company. Today, if i get a 1 year B1 while working with Apple, and 6 months later i move to Google or XYZ. I could still use the B1 issued when i was in Apple.

Your purpose of travel has to be business though. Please do carry documentation to prove the business angle.

This is my personal opinion. I am not a professional.

    Wishing you luck.

    Cheers,
