  • B1/B2 visa? - Other options?

    Hello,

I have a question regarding the B1/B2 visa.
I start working for a German company in January 2014. The first year I have to travel to the States to be with the mother company for most of the time due to above all training and lots of meetings. It looks like I have to be in the States from January on to at least May/June 2014. After several weeks in Germany with the subsidiary I have to go back for another ~ 3 months. Is the B1/B2 the right visa for my situation or are there other better options? Could I get a visa for 6 months and then have it renewed for another 6 months?
Thank you so much in advance!

So this means I should go towards one of the visas listed in the article? Well the thing is I am getting paid by the company in Germany and I´ll pay taxes in Germany. The months in the States are to discuss business development and get an actual onboarding on-site in the US. Are prove of training sessions and meeting invitations enough to get the visa approved for 4-5 months?

    Thank you very much!

These are my personal thoughts. I am not a professional.

      Wishing you luck.

You are not going to get B1 telling that there is requirement for 4-6 Months training. Plus the need of a possible 6 Month extension.

L1 seems to be the right option.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

L1 seems to be no option as I am starting to work for this company in 01.2014. For L1 you have to be working with the company at least for one year already right?
          Thx
