I there,
I am hopefull someone can help me with this, because i sincerely cannot find the answer on the websites.
I am going to the a university in new jersey for a 2 month period to train for a specific lab technique there. I am a medical doctor and am working on my PhD research.
As they are only just beginning to set up a medical school at this university, they have not yet set up an office of international services for trainees like myself.
My question is the following: Do I need a J1 visa or will a B1 waiver suffice?
I am going for <90 days, will not need credit from my university and receive salary from my home institute in the Netherlands. I have received a grant (NL) that pays for my flights etc.
Its just a very specific question and no one at my local or host institution seems to know the answer.
Also if it so happens I need to apply for a J1, time is of the essence and I need to apply sooner rather than later.
Kind regards
Laura
