  • B1 Visa rejected twice

I work for a reputed U.S based company in Bangalore. On 7th Sep 2007 I attended B1 Visa Interview from Delhi due to non availability of date in Chennai but I was refused Visa under 214(b),Visa officer was not happy with my invitation letter.
My visit was important as I had to attend a training which happens only in our U.S office so I got a new invitation letter from my US office and attended Interview again on 17th Sep 2007 at Delhi but unfortunately again I was rejected visa under 214(b).Visa officer said I can apply again and I can apply from Chennai.
Is there any restriction that I should again apply in Delhi as I got Visa rejected in Delhi?
I have to visit my US office in Feb2008 for training. Please guide me where to apply for Visa either to Delhi or Chennai. Also please let me know can I apply again in Jan 2008 as I got rejected twice in Sep 2007.
I had all documents I am really confused why I was rejected Visa.

    No

No there's no restrictions for you to apply from Delhi. However, your office is in Bangalore and your AMCON should be Chennai. This is one hitch for your process.

You need to tell your company to send you a proper letter explaining the requirement. For business travel, it's not called as "invitation" letter. Invitations can be cancelled easily. However, if it's an important training, as you've mentioned, then your company should indicate such in the letter and you can apply once more.

    Preferably apply @ Chennai.

    Good luck.

      Thanks for the reply,
Second time when i attended the interview in my letter it was clearly mentioned about the criticality of me attending the training but it was in vain.

Officer said me I can apply in chennai, but what worries me is if I attend in chennai will they reject saying I was rejected in Delhi and I have to visit Delhi itself.

This trainings are very important for my job in India.

I will apply hoping things will go positive this time.

      Thanks

        Try and try

At the moment the only thing you can do is try. Whether you apply in South India or North India, it does not matter since they have track of all communique with each person.

Your company should emphasize the importance of the requirement or consult an attorney in United States if this is a mandatory (compulsory) requirement for your job.

Maybe something else is wrong or missing. Maybe some other information was probably misrepresented somewhere.

        Good luck to you.

pls let me know the procedure to consult an attorney in United States.
so that I can ask my company to do it.

            No procedure

There's no "procedure" as such to consult an attorney in the United States.

Your company most probably has one on retainer and if not, will have one on their list anyway.

If your company is unaware of how to get an attorney, maybe you should re-think about joining this company itself.

            Good luck to you.
