  • B1 Visa Extension Multiple Entry Visa

    Dear Sir/Mam,

I came to The US on a B1 visa on Aug 17 2007 and my I-94 was stamped to be valid till 17th of November 2007. (My visa is a 10 Year Visa valid till 2017). Due to some business deal I needed to stay in the States till 28th of December so I applied for an extension to my stay. I filled in I-536 form on 26th of Oct 2007 around 20 days before my I-94 expired) and submitted to USCIS. I got the receipt on 30th of Oct 2007 stating that my application has been received on 26th Oct 2007. Now, on today’s date (20th Dec 2007) the status of that application is still pending.
I need to go back to my country on 28th of December.
Will it cause some issues if I return to my country before my extension is approved/ denied?

    -K

If it is approved, you will be fine, just bring the receipt with you next time you come to the USA.

If it is denied, your visa is subject to 222(g) and may be cancelled next time you attempt to enter the USA.

You should have applied for an extension at least 6 weeks before the i-94 expired.

      BI Extension I-536 form download

      1. Can I extend B1 Visa after 6 months of stay in USA?

      2. Can I change the status from B1 to H1 when I am in USA??

      3. Where can I download form I-536 to file the extension??

      4. Can I file for extension directly or should apply with a Attorney??
      Which is the best.
