want to apply for B1 with h1B pending

I was issued a 221g when applied for H1B 6 months ago, i did not get abck to them yet, buit want to do it later. now my present company wants to send me on B1.

Is it ok to apply for another visa wiht my h1B pending?

You can apply, but they will very likely give you 221(g) again.

H1B and B1 are TWO different visas, you can not go to "work" on a B1.
