b1/b2 application query

hello friends....
i am a medical student applying for B1/B2.....i filled in the DS-156/157 forms.....after that it asked for the "alternate address" where my passport would be couriered....but its isnt accepting my city's (jodhpur) pin code....so may i write my friend's address in delhi where i would be staying a couple of days after my iv?ofcourse i'll try my best to collect it from the VFS counter itself....but in case i am not able to do it.....they are gonna send it to the "alternate address" rite?

Yes, That is what the address is for. But the address on DS156 should be your correct address. The alternate address they ask is for delivery of the passport only. If I remember right, they clearly say that on the VFS website.

so...i hope there wont be any probelm if i write my friend's address in the alternate address column......

one more thing....

i have mentioned our family friend's address in USA in the DS forms under the sections of contact person in USA.....is it necessary for me to get an invitation letter from them?may i go to the visa without it?

which address does the VFS courier my passport?

the one i mentioned in the DS form column 15? or the so called alternate address?

i read the vfs-co site and also immi help.....dint get it...

If you chose the alternate address, then vfs will courier your documents only to that address.

Alternate address is not on the DS156 or 157. It is separate and is asked while you enter the basic receipt details or after you finish the application and that is just specific for the VFS courier service.
