hi ,
i had misprint in my passport at surname column with single letter.but all the name with surname is printed overthere at given names column correctly.will it be a problem while applying for visa?i have submitted the copy of this passport to pay the fee for visa application.thanking you all in advance.

It is always a good idea to get the error corrected immediately by contacting the consulate. It could lead to other problems even if it is 1 letter.
