My parents-in-law recently had business visas rejected. My father-in-law is an executive banker and had an invitation to come to a conference in the US, but the VO thought that the purpose of their trip was to visit their son (my husband) so she rejected the visas.
Now that this trip is off and my husband has gotten approved for legal permanent residence in the meantime, we'd like for him to sponsor them for B2 visas to come visit us around the same time period that they would have been at the conference.
Does anyone have any idea how this might be received by the consular office? I know that you can reapply for visas at any time, I'm just worried about the short time period between the two applications and the fact that the timing of the new trip is essentially the same as what the business trip would have been and how the VO will perceive that.
