Urgent:I have H1 and B1, can I visit US on B1???

Hi,

Situation:

I have valid H1B and B1 visas in my passport... I just came back from US(as my client had huge layoffs) and got job in India... now my present company wants me to travel to US for business on B1...

Query:

1: Can I travel on B1 visa?
2: If I do so, will it effect my current H1B visa?

Please advice...

Can I change back to H1 (since I have approved Petition) if I land up with a project during my B1 stay in US?

You may, but better not as B1 visa is not given to look for projects in US.

just moved back to india..my h1b is still active.but joined a new company in india.
and my new employer in india wants me to go for b1 stamping..will the visa officer cancel my h1b, during my b1 stamping wtih new employer..what
should i tell him about coming for b1, so that they dont cancel my h1b staming without prejudice..
please advise..
