Hello,
I had applied for a B1 Visa to the US to attend a training for 2 weeks at the Frankfurt US consulate. The visa officer asked me a few questions and said that I wouldn't be having any issues in getting a visa and I would get the visa stamped within 2 to 4 weeks and handed me a White sheet indicating that I need to send my resume to the email address mentioned in the letter. Now, 4 weeks have passed and I am supposed to go to the US next week.
My question is, is it normal for them to delay the issuance of the visa provided that they have given me the 221(g) white sheet?
If so then would they respond if I write to them on the same email address as I dont want to screw up my application by constantly harrasing them with my emails.
I have given them my passport and thats the only identification proof I have in Germany. Is it possible to ask them to return my passport temporarily?
On an average, how long does it take for administrative processing in case of 221(g)
I would appreciate your responses.
Thanks in anticipation.
