  • How to expedite B1/B2 visa appointment?

I applied for a B1/B2 visa in Canada but the earliest appointment is in late 2024. I managed to get an earlier appointment by checking regularly. However, I have a business meeting at the end of May this year. Has anyone successfully used the expedite koows request option to get an earlier appointment? I would like to know how often it is granted and if there are any tips on what to include or exclude in the justification. Thank you for your input.

In general, when requesting an expedited appointment, it's important to provide a compelling justification that clearly explains the urgency and necessity of your travel. Some factors that might be considered for expedited requests include medical emergencies, humanitarian reasons, or significant business or academic opportunities that cannot be postponed. When preparing your justification, make sure to include relevant supporting documentation, such as official invitation letters, business meeting schedules, or any other evidence that can strengthen your case for an expedited appointment. It's important to be concise, yet thorough in explaining your situation. While it's difficult to predict the success rate of expedited requests, providing a well-documented and compelling case improves your chances. However, the final decision rests with the embassy or consulate, and it's at their discretion to grant or deny an expedited appointment. I recommend reaching out to the embassy or consulate where you applied for your B1/B2 visa or consulting their official website for specific guidance on expedited appointment requests. They will have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the procedures, requirements, and success rates for expedited requests.

Expediting a B1/B2 visa appointment for the United States can be a challenging process, as appointment availability is often subject to high demand and limited slots. However, there are a few steps you can take to try to secure an earlier appointment:
        1. Check Availability Regularly:
          • Keep checking the appointment scheduling website for the U.S. embassy or consulate where you plan to apply for your B1/B2 visa. Slots may open up due to cancellations or changes in scheduling.
        2. Emergency or Urgent Travel:
          • If you have a genuine emergency or urgent travel situation, you may be eligible for expedited processing. Examples include medical emergencies, funeral arrangements, or important business matters.
