Traveling for a conference, but DS 2019 issued for J2.

Hi everyone,

I have some confusion, i am invited as a speaker in a conference- I already hold a b1/b2 that I usually use for my travel to US. Recently I got married to a medical resident holding J1. He already applied and received for ds 2019 so I can apply for J2.

Since, i haven't applied for J2 and the conference is in 2 weeks. Is it okay if I travel on my B1 and comeback afterwards to apply for J2.
