  • B1/B2 for my minor children

    Hello guys
I am a US citizen and my wife recently received her IR1. I have 3 sons. The youngest one has a US passport since he was born after I became a citizen.
I had filed my wifes petition while on a green card and had my first 2 kids on her petition as derivatives. But since I became a citizen, they were removed from the petition and require their own separate petitions.

My wifes visa expires in December and there is no one to take care of them if she comes with the youngest one.
I have scheduled my 2 minor kids B1/B2 interview next month and their mother will represent them.

My first child is 6 and goes to school and the other one is 3 yrs old.
I plan to bring them to the US and file their AOS.

What will be the best approach at the interview?
Should she tell exactly how our situation is or tell the VO that she plans to come back after visiting me due to our childs education?

    Thanks for any advise

    Hi,
Its always suggestable to convey truth answer in front of officer. Even people obtained visitors visa with same reason successfully landed in the USA for next course of action.
    All the best.
    Thanks

      Hello,
Be honest and transparent. Let the consular officer know the full situation—your wife’s IR1 status, your citizenship, and your intent to file AOS for your children. Misleading about return plans could jeopardize future immigration steps. Truth builds trust.

      Best Regards,
