Hello,
I need to travel to the US to attend a training during the 2nd week of august.
My visa interview is scheduled on 1st of August and my tickets to travel have been booked for the 5th of august.
I have a valid invitation letter stating the duration of training as 1 week and detailed agenda.
I am planning to stay for 10 extra days to visit some places after the training.
1) Is it ok to stay longer than the period mentioned in the invitation letter and is it ok if I mention this to the consulate officer during interview?
2) What should be the return date mentioned on my BEP cover letter from the company (My company is under the BEP program). Should it be just the 1 week, or can it include the extra stay?
3) What should I answer when the immigration officer at the port of entry asks for the duration of stay?
Would greatly appreciate answers to the questions.
Thanks.
