Need B1 visa within 2 weeks

I need to travel to the US in the first week of January, probably around 1st, on a B1 visa.
I've got a couple of questions -

1) I'm from bangalore. Is there any obligation for me to go to Chennai only for the visa interview or can I appear for interview in one of the other locations as well?
The interview slots for Chennai are almost gone for this week, while some are still available in new delhi.

2) Typically how long does it take for the Visa to be delivered by courier (starting from the date of the interview?)
It should be around 2 days processing time + 2 days courier time, right?

3) Apart from the mandatory documents, are there any documents that are required to be carried in original?
Is the birth certificate important? Can I just carry a photocopy of the same?
