Reapplication for B1 Visa

I had been to the B1 VISA interview Jan 2012 last week.

Visa was rejected due to longer duration (3 months) mentioned.

Now my company wants me to try again with a shorter duration (3 weeks)
and for a different client place in US.

I request to please someone answer for the below 2 queries i have,

1. What is the cooling period needed to reapply after a B1 Visa rejection ?
2. Are there chances for getting a visa approved if applied within a month after rejection,
with 3 weeks duration and to a different client place.

2. You need to apply for the duration you are really and genuinely going and be prepared to justify that duration.

Did you get B1 Visa after first rejection?

I am in same situation and would like to know if you got visa second time.
