  • B1 rejected, when is it good to reapply

    Hi,

I work in a US MNC. I need to go to US for 5-6 weeks for trainings, which are very important for my work in India.
My Visa got rejected the first time, with the reason that they are not convinced why I want to go to US on 214 (b) clause.

The interviewer asked me the following questions:
    1. What kind of training (it is mainly visiting manufacturing sites, doing risk evaluation etc)
    2. Why for 6 weeks (because i also need to get introduced properly to the team there, as i have to work with them. I have recently had a Horizontal shift in my company and joined this new team)
    3. Have you ever been to US before (No)
    4. For how long have i been working in this company (almost 2 years)

Please guide me, when is the right time to reapply and how should I approach now?

Recent misuse of B1 by some companies has caused the embassies to be more strict when granting B1s. If you say more than 2-3 weeks of stay, they get suspicious that you will be working on your B1.
+ Your relatively short experience with the company ( 2years) was also the reason.

If you will reapply soon with the same situation, they will deny you again.

I think you will have to forget about the current training assignment.
Get yourself in line for the next oppportunity when it comes in a few months.
Then you should apply for a short assignment and a short stay of say 2 weeks, not more.
