  • Urgent Professional Help

I was born in the Philippines on October 19, 1992.
My father was already living in the United States when I was born, but he was an immigrant.
My father married my mom on April 18, 1996 in the Philippines.
My father was granted naturalization to citizenship on October 22, 1997.
I entered the United States with my mom on March 13, 1999.
My mother was granted naturalization to citizenship on December 1, 2004.
    In 2004 I was under 18.

I recently filed the N-400 and wasted $600 because I was already a U.S Citizen and my family and I did NOT know that. They said I was already automatically a U.S citizen because of my parents. I called the USCIS, but they are so confusing so I wanted to know what you guys think.

    Questions:
    1. Am I a U.S Citizen because of my parents according to the information above?
    2. Do I file N-600 to get my Certificate of Citizenship?
    3. Who should I list on my N-600 to acquire citizenship from my parents? Mom or dad or both?
    4. What documents do I need with my N-600 form?

Feel free to answer and input extra information if you want.

Thank you all. I really need my Certificate of Citizenship so I can get my first U.S Passport and travel outside of U.S.

This is in fact confusing and reading the instructions for N-600 makes your head spin

I would set up an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and talk to an agent. You might qualify based on the fact that your dad was a US citizen while you were under 18 and a green card holder and all of that was prior to the February 27, 2001 deadline that is stated in the instructions above.
